To Place a Known Distance from an Existing Component
A component may be
placed a known distance from an existing piping component. For example, place a
bend 10' from the center point of a tee already in the model.
- Select a component placement option.
- In the Placement dialog be sure to select the placement point (Main Port, Run Port etc.) from the pick list.
- Hold down the Shift key and pick an the open port of the reference component. If placing a know distance from a bend or branched component, you can select the active (or Working) point to use as the reference point.
- Press the Enter key to lock the direction.

Input a distance in the AccuDraw window.
The distance may also be specified by picking a point in the drawing.
- An outline of the component is placed in the drawing.
- Click a data point to place the component.
- For components requiring direction points, pick a point to define the direction.
